As health systems expand both in size and number, a corresponding trend has emerged for these organizations to increase their level of risk and clinical integration, with an emphasis on efficient and effective population health management. For pharmaceutical manufacturers to be viewed as a true partner with health systems, they will first need to articulate their products’ value by demonstrating how they align with the goals of the health system. In addition, manufacturers can provide disease-specific patient education, decision support tools, and field training to educate the account teams on how to speak to health systems in terms that are important to them.
