NetworkPKU conferences are the result of a partnership between BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc and MedAccess. This ongoing series of successful educational programs are for people living with phenylketonuria (PKU)—a rare genetic disease that causes phenylalanine to build up in the body—their caregivers, and the dieticians who help them create healthy meal plans that address the special needs of a person with PKU. The NetworkPKU Conferences are one-day, low-protein culinary experiences developed by the Inherited Metabolic Diseases team at Children’s Hospital Colorado. These events are hosted at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts across the country, where dedicated chefs facilitate culinary workshops on low-protein meal options.
